Hey Guys!! I created this Thread to just explode my own theories for everything Godsfall into a shared format. I'm gonna cover everything from what I thinks gonna happen next to crazy speculations on the world of Godsfall, with a dash of my own comments about the more enigmatic aspects of the series. I hope you enjoy and feel free to add your own thoughts and even share some of your own Theories!! ~Peace, Neo (burningneophyte)
P. S. I refer to the Party as the Godlings until a canonical name for them is given. Mainly because it sounds cooler than just "the Party" or "the PCs."

Crazy Speculation #1: The Acolytes
One of the first things I'd like to cover is the mysterious trio of Acolytes in red robes and gold painted hands. They're obviously not your run-of-the-mill cult in Godsfall (if there is one), because they have access to magic, something that the Godlings have only seen in other Awakened. Which leads to the question: Where did they get it? And if you think about it, the answer is quite simple.
They're priests, and priests worship Gods. And in the world of D&D, if they're devout enough or deemed worthy, they inherit some divine magic from their patron deity. Aram has given no indication that this would be different in Godsfall, so it's safe to say they gained their powers from worshipping, you guessed it, Goldilocks Grabsalot, the Awakened God of Order. The priests do a little dance, swear loyalty to the new God, and he probably grows stronger for being worshipped by his followers. In return, he gives a portion of his Divinity to them for acting out his Divine Orders.
However, Goldilocks hasn't taken over the universe yet, so he probably doesn't have that much power to spare. Which means there won't be robed skinheads running around that can Hold a battalion of soldiers single-handedly anytime soon. Only low-level robes performing small, but devastating, acts of magic. After all, nobody else can cast magic but the Awakened. For now.

What If...? #1: The Godlings Played Church
But what if all the Awakened can gather followers and clergy? After all, they are the new Gods, why wouldn't they be able to give a portion of their power to those loyal to them? Would these clergy follow rules and gather in groups to match their God's personality? What do you think the Church of the Godlings would be called or looked like?

I think the gold handed priests are followers of the gods and draw their power from artifacts that were made with magic before the Godswar. Kadar actively hunts these down to make bane swords, so it would make sense that there may be a group that protects them and uses them to worship the gods. It also makes sense that they would use a smuggler like Laflour (who I think follows the gods as well) to move them from country to country. I may be completely off but thats what I think.

That actually makes a lot of sense with the smuggling aspect of everything and that there would be groups that horde and protect leftover artifacts and the need for transporting them, but my only issue would be what kind of artifact(s) would have the ability to gift other people magic? And if worshipping artifacts in general as a substitute for the Gods would cause magic to be received, why don't the Wallites have power? But I do agree that there might be a mysterious fourth faction that is just hording the objects for worship, and not worried with the revival of the Gods.

The Godking's artifact made him a god just by wearing them. I wouldn't be surprised if there were artifacts that contained energy to allow a limited but useful range of magic. Or another thought is that if one can repurpose magic items into bane swords, maybe one could repurpose magic items into a "magic battery" (for lack of a better term).

I'm purposely not going to comment on these threads because I have a tendency to vomit out information too soon, but I can't tell you all how excited I am that fan theories abound. Good ones, too

Well Aram, that's totally fine. But you're missing an opportunity to fan the flames of Crazy Town.
To notkevinward, I honestly completely forgot about the God King's armor and stuff. And it's totally possible that there are more objects like that out there. And if Kadar can make bane swords, then someone else could make "magic batteries." That's a really good theory. Ya know, that could be what the people stealing magic are doing. Creating giant magic batteries for their own personal use, whatever that might be. It sounds so epically Godsfall I'm inclined to agree with that idea. Love it!
