We use a one-roll natural 20 system. It borrows on the simplified rules of the new 5e Dungeons and Dragons rules, but expands it to include both skill checks and saving throws. My logic for this is simple: my characters are superheros attached to the old gods. It makes sense for them to be "extra successful" on a regular basis, especially with some of the challenges I throw at them.

It seems to add a bit of flair or fun. Though I've been getting the impression that your table rolls a fair few more 20s than ours. We often only get 2 or 3 a night across the whole table. Perhaps our dice are broken...

I have been accused of having a "luck field" on more than one occasion, and it seems to carry over to the dice at my table. Though that said, there were a LOT of 1's this last game.
